My Trip to Switzerland took place October 11th to 15th. Weather in Switzerland at this time is reasonably comfortable. Temperature highs were approximately 40F. First day arriving to Switzerland, I was amazed by the train system.

Coming from a city like New York which has numerous trains, I was amazed by the cleanliness and total operations Switzerland trains upheld. Taking the trains, only took three steps from the airport to get to downtown Zürich which my hotel was located. After checking into my hotel, I didn’t have any excursions booked for the day so I just walked around and saw most of downtown Zürich. Town of Zürich is beautiful. I saw various statues, lakes, and landmark buildings. A lot of stores, restaurants and of course places to shop.

Next day in Switzerland, my excursion I picked was “Mount Titlis Day Trip from Zurich”. First part of this excursion, stopped at a part of Switzerland called Lucerne. Town of Lucerne was definitely much different than Zürich. Town of Lucerne was definitely more historical and had different construction as for buildings than Zürich. My favorite part of Lucerne was the Chapel Bridge. The Bridge had various biblical artworks & quotes that I thought was very unique.

After town of Lucerne, next stop was Mount Titlis which is located in Engelberg, Switzerland. As we approached Mount Titlis, I was amazed at the gondolas. After getting our tickets, we boarded the gondolas to take us to the top of the mountain. The mechanics and design of these gondolas was nothing I ever seen before. I was skeptical at first about getting in but once I saw how safe the construction was I felt okay. While riding the gondolas, the views of the mountain was something I couldn’t get over. Once we made it to the level to get off, I didn’t realize we had to switch gondolas to finish off the altitude to the very top of the mountain.

This part of the mountain , temperatures was definitely much colder and the mountain was covered in snow. After getting to the top we had the option to ride a ski lift which took us about a mile in a semi circle over the snow covered mountain.

This was cool but visibility was hard since it was snowing the day we was there. Leaving from the ski lift, we had the opportunity to enjoy a ice cave which was located inside. This mini ice cave was cool. Throughout the cave you saw various frozen animals to give you a ice age feel.

Time at Mount Titlis was decent and you can definitely do everything in the time that was given. I recommend this excursion for anyone who is not afraid of heights. Overall between Lucerne & Mount Titlis this was a great day.
Day Three in Switzerland, the excursion I chose to do was “Black Forest, Lake Titisee & Rhine Falls. After boarding the bus, we set out to our first stop on the excursion which was the Rhine Falls. After getting to Rhine Falls, the group and I had the option to get on a boat to get up close to the waterfall. This was very cool because you get a closer look at the waterfall and a touch of mist as the boat navigated in and around the falls. After the boat trip our tour guide allowed us to walk the vicinity of the falls to take pictures, videos, and even a little bit of shopping that was in the area.

This part of the excursion was really good. I loved the part of getting on the boat to get up close to the waterfall. The remainder of this excursion, Black Forest and Lake Titisee can be found under “Blog” as this adventure took us across Switzerland border into Germany.
Last Day in Switzerland, the excursion I chose to do was “Jungfraujoch: Top of Europe Tour from Zürich”. This excursion set out at 8am. once on the bus we made our way to Mount Jungfraujoch which is considered to be apart of the Swiss Alps. On the way we stopped in a small town called Höheweg, where we was able to get breakfast and shop for about 40 minutes.

After that we continued our way to the mountain. Once getting to Mountain Jungfraujoch, our tour guide got our tickets to ride to the top for mountain Jungfraujoch. We first set out on the gondolas, which took us halfway up the mountain.

Once at the halfway point, we had to switch to a train which took us to the very top. Once at the top of the mountain, there was a lot of things to do. There was zip lining, views to take pictures with Swiss Flag, ice cave and more. At the top, I took advantage of the views of being on top of the tallest mountain in Europe. Pictures and views from this mountain was absolutely amazing.

After taking pictures, I headed inside to experience the mini ice cave this mountain had. This ice cave was really cool. I loved the tunnel that was built to walk inside. This tunnel made me feel like I was walking in a igloo. Once in the cave, there was multiple ice sculptures and hidden passages that was nice.

This excursion was really fun. If chosen expect this excursion to last all day. Coming back, we reached Zürich around 830pm.
Overall, Switzerland trip was amazing. I recommend this trip for anyone who is into sightseeing, mountains, historical landmarks and doesn’t mind the cold weather. October is the best time to visit, as the weather will be in the mid 60’s the whole time you are there. Switzerland is definitely on my list of places to revisit, and I promise to whoever is reading this you won’t regret going.
